CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

AREA 5

Equity

Equity

Women, rural communities, and Indigenous Peoples continue to face reduced access to basic human needs and livelihood opportunities – and the economic fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic is expected to push an extra half a billion people into extreme poverty.

CIFOR-ICRAF recognizes that solving complex social and environmental problems means addressing power and inequality for effective collaboration and just outcomes. For over two decades, our researchers have been making connections between poverty, land rights, livelihoods and gender.
