Lars Graudal is a forester with over 30 years of experience, specializing in the use and conservation of tree genetic resources. He is on secondment from The Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University (RVAU), Faculty of Forestry, Copenhagen, Denmark (now part of the University of Copenhagen) where he leads a research programme on Tropical Trees and Landscapes. 

Graudal has also worked for the Danish Tree Improvement Station and Danida Forest Seed Centre.
