Luis Orozco Aguilar

Luis Orozco Aguilar, current Deputy Director for Research, and Innovation for the LWR-MOCCA-Project, holds a PhD in Forest and Ecosystem Sciences from the University of Melbourne, Australia. Luis is a dynamic researcher and practitioner of tropical agroforestry with perennial crops (cacao and coffee). Prior to joining LWRMOCCA project, Luis worked for CATIE (2008-2012) where he led a comprehensive
base line assessment of the cacao value chain in Central America and oversaw a network of experimental cacao plots to document the potential of shaded cacao plantations to provide ecosystem services at farm and landscape levels. Luis has also delivered consultant services to private companies and ONGs and participated as technical advisor of several cocoa boards in the region.
