Jonathan Mockshell

Jonathan Mockshell is an agricultural and food policy economist, and a research scientist and project leader at the Alliance Bioversity – CIAT. Jonathan’s research mandate focuses on incentives and investments for driving a transition to sustainable agriculture pathway and political economy of food systems transformation. His secondary collaborative research and engagement focuses on policy design and analysis, process and impact evaluation and cost benefit analysis of emerging innovations to inform policy decisions. In recent projects, Jonathan is examining the role of private and public sector incentives and business models for accelerating a transition to agroecology, and build resilient food systems in Ethiopia, Vietnam, and Peru. Prior to joining CIAT, he was a researcher at the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) and the University of Hohenheim. Jonathan serves as an Advisory Committee member of the UN 10YFP program on sustainable production and consumption.
