Bruno Brasil is Director of Sustainable Production and Irrigation at the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA), where he coordinates the Sectoral Plan for Adaptation to Climate Change and Low Carbon Emissions in Agriculture (ABC+ Plan).
He has a degree in Biological Sciences and holds an MBA in Project Management, as well as a Master’s and Ph.D. in Microbiology.
Bruno is also a researcher at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) since 2012 and served as Deputy Director of R&D at the Embrapa Agroenergy Unit for two years. Additionally, he was Secretary of Research and Development at Embrapa’s headquarters for four years. Between 2022 and 2023, he worked as Superintendent of Strategy at Embrapa’s headquarters.
Since 2023, he is the representative from Brazil in the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) Agriculture hub and MAPA´s focal point for agriculture-related actions under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Global Methane Pledge.
