Amanda Katili Niode

Amanda Katili Niode is the Director of Climate Reality Indonesia, where she leads a network of 1,000 volunteers as part of a global climate leadership initiative founded by former US Vice President Al Gore. The organization’s mission is to drive actionable solutions to the climate crisis across all sectors of society.

Amanda has extensive experience in both government and academia. She previously served as Head of the Expert Team for the Indonesian President’s Special Envoy for Climate Change and as Special Assistant to the Minister of Environment. Currently, she is a member of the Advisory Council on Climate Change Control at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.

Since 2007, Amanda has been an active member of the Indonesian Delegation to the UNFCCC Conference of Parties (COP), where she has played a pivotal role in advancing climate initiatives. She also managed Climate Reality’s activities at the Indonesia Pavilion during COP events.

Amanda holds a PhD from the School of Environment and Sustainability at the University of Michigan, USA, and an undergraduate degree from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Indonesia. She has been a Visiting Scholar at MIT, an Adjunct Professor at the University of Nevada, Reno, and is currently a lecturer at IPB University and Universitas Indonesia.

In addition to her academic and professional achievements, Amanda is a certified Executive Coach and Trainer, specializing in Environmental Management, Climate Action, and fostering a Sustainability Mindset.
