The success of clima te-chang e mitig ation actions is t o be measur ed by the r educed emissions. The fulfilmen t of the c ommitmen t made by the Indonesian Pr esiden t of 26% r eduction unila terally plus an additional 15% thr ough in terna tional support by 2020 c an only be judg ed fr om the amoun t of emissions r educed by 2020 and the achie vemen t of 7% ec onomic gr owth. 2. Demons trated emission r eduction has t o be attribut able t o the sour ce of funding bec ause of the politic al and socio-ec onomic al implic ations a ttached. Achie ving unsupport ed emission r eduction will position Indonesia as a true leader in clima te-chang e mitig ation. The out come of in terna tionally support ed emission reductions will ha ve implic ations f or in terna tional mechanisms while the r emaining emission r eduction tha t c an be tr aded will bring a signific an t ec onomic bene fit.
