The West African Science Service Center on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL) is a partnership between West African countries and German institutions to strengthen capacity and research on climate change and land use in West Africa. WASCAL aims to address climate change issues through adapted land use by establishing research clusters, a competence center, graduate programs, and networks of climate and resource data collection. The partnership involves universities, research centers, and national agencies in 10 West African countries and 10 German research institutions.
