CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Description

The transformative partnership platform on agroecology (TPP) supported by SDC wishes to launch a bold citizen science campaign to involve smallholder farmers, farm workers and food consumers in generating knowledge to accelerate and document agroecological transitions.
This initiative should be seen as a subsidiary and linking element between the different actions that are underway such as the Coalition for food systems transformation through agroecolgy, the TPP, the new CGIAR Agroecology Initiative and the engagement of different civil society actors. This initiative aims to give a voice to all small-scale farmers who practice agroecology in their own way and to consumers who are committed to sustainable and equitable systems to participate in defining national food systems transition pathways.
To ensure the success of this initiative, the mobilisation of institutions and associations are crucial. This is ensured through strong involvement of organisations such as AFA and AFS, which together represent millions of small producers, and the mobilisation of networks supported by the SDC but also by various other coalition and TPP partners.
