Description

The aim of the project is primarily to promote youth, women, smallholders farm intensification, entrepreneurship, and multi-stakeholder platform. This objective/s has been designed based on the lessons and learnings from the preceding project activities where using evidence based and practice-oriented tree and agroforestry-based value chains as good practices of agriculture, livelihoods and conservation, green jobs and income generating opportunities created for youths and women. The project aims to achieve and see that youth and women livelihood opportunities intensified through entrepreneurship, tree-based value chain enterprises and Agroforestry practices in existing project woredas; RRC business model employed as income generation approach for unemployed youths and women and farm intensification through Agroforestry practices promoted by smallholder farmers in new project woredas and the National Watershed and Agroforestry Multi-stakeholders Platform (NWAMP) cascaded and operationalized in the project target areas. Evidence based and action-oriented interventions supported with practice-oriented capacity building and knowledge sharing will be the key approaches of project implementation and monitoring. The project will be implemented in selected districts of Mattu and Buno Bedele zones of Oromia region in Ethiopia.
