CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Description

Several flagship products, including the 2017 USAID Investment Scenario Analysis Report, the ISPC Foresight Initiative, and others have raised awareness regarding the value of foresight approaches. At the same time, the CGIAR is rapidly entering a new series of business planning cycles, with critical milestones every three years beginning in 2020 and with an eye toward 2030 objectives.

This combination, the increased awareness of the potential value of foresight approaches coupled with the new planning cycle, has resulted in increased demand for a coordinated, CGIAR-wide foresight process. This activity is intended to help the System-level entities, Centers, and CRPs organize, contextualize, and communicate anticipated needs and challenges regarding their respective thematic areas of emphasis.

As a result of this, CIFOR implementes a foresight study related to Emerging Challenges and Agricultural Investment Options for Improved Income, Food Security and Environment.
