Description
China recognizes CGIAR's contribution to sustainable food security and poverty reduction trough scientific research and research-related activities in the fields of agriculture, forestry, fisheries, policy, and environment, and values CGIAR's effort to build up two parties' partnership. In return, China has been providing annual contributions and scientists to support CGIAR's activities in- and out-side China. In 2007, China's contribution to CGIAR increased from $800,000 to $1,200,000 and the $400.000 increase will serve as restricted funding to encourage CGIAR's research activities in China.
