CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Descriptions

The Green Finance for Sustainable Landscapes (GF4SL) project is a Joint Initiative of the Collaborative Partnership on Forests (CPF), a broad-based platform of international organizations with a focus on forests. With GEF funding, the UNEP Climate Finance Unit is executing the GF4SL project with CIFOR as the co-executing agency. The project aims to influence enabling conditions for the commitments on deforestation-free, sustainable commodity production, and other forms of sustainable land use. The overall objective is to reduce the pressures on natural resources by boosting investor interest in increasing the capital flows for forest restoration and deforestation-free agriculture. This will be approached by, among others, extracting lessons learnt on land use finance facilities for replication and providing support for standardized metrics and additional measurement for stimulating the financing of sustainable agricultural practices. CIFOR will work in collaboration with the Forest Farm Facility of the FAO on Component 3 to develop the capacity of community-based forestry and agribusiness producer groups to better access business knowledge products and private investment. We expect to establish a global learning hub with links to regions in the Global South to disseminate knowledge products, provide tailored training materials, and train SMEs and forest and farm producers organizations (FFPO)
