ICRAF and Natural State have common objectives in harnessing the latest scientific and technological advances for generating appropriate data to prevent land degradation, to restore or regenerate degraded natural resources and ecosystems hence contributing to national and global development agendas and in boosting the resilience of communities to mitigate climate change.

In this project, ICRAF offers guidance in the setup and functioning of a fully operational spectral laboratory. This includes:
1) Capacity Building
a) Conducting training sessions to equip laboratory personnel with the necessary skills for instrument operation, data collection, and analysis.
b) Sharing of quality control protocols to maintain data accuracy and consistency.
2) Technical Backstopping: ICRAF offers technical backstopping for a duration of 6 months, during which the client can actively involve ICRAF for instrument operation and data analysis inquiries. ICRAF also extends troubleshooting and technical assistance for both hardware and software aspects of the spectroscopy lab as needed throughout the initial year.
