CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Description

This project is implementing a series of activities as part of the intervention entitled Governance Support Project, the Agricultural and rural integration and training in Tshopo (GIFT), implemented by Enabel.

The project is developed based on a series of documents, knowledge and practical experiences acquired in the Yangambi Landscape by CIFOR and its partners through the implementation of several past and present actions (e.g. the Training, Research action and Environment in Tshopo – FORETS – phases I and II, financed by the European Union). The work is largely based on ongoing actions (notably those relating to the implementation, awareness-raising and popularization of agroecological practices, in addition to those relating to environmental education and engagement with several educational institutes, including some ITA) in the Yangambi landscape, by intensifying and expanding the strengthening of agricultural and rural training institutes to offer services contributing to climate resilience in their areas of operation.
