CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Description

Growing threatened trees’ restoration capacity in Cote d’Ivoire’s cocoa landscape

In Côte d'Ivoire restoration deploys a sparce set of tree species and a fraction of the spectacular tree diversity of theformer high conservation value forest. This project builds capability/capacity to use a wide array of indigenous, particularly threatened, through inventory of a degraded 6800 ha botanic reserve, seed collection, propagation, supporting nurseries to raise and stock a wider range of trees, and growing the market for them by raising awareness of biodiversity among cocoa and other restoration actors.
