CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Description

Based on the success achieved during the first four courses, University of California at Davis (UC-Davis) as a part of its project on African Orphan Crop Consortium continues the African Plant Breeding Academy (AfPBA) in Nairobi, Kenya.
The fifth course offering is scheduled to be conducted over 18 months, with three 2 week sessions for the course. Each year, two sessions are held in May and November-December (3 sessions during the period being covered by this work plan). While the technical aspects of the academy are directly managed by the staff of UC-Davis, ICRAF supports the organizational and logistical matters of the academy.
