CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Descriptions

The project contributes to the vision of NCA Ethiopia Country Strategy 2020 – 2024: Empowered and resilient communities living in peace and dignity and complements the Norad Civil Society funding which focuses on Faith Based Climate Action as one of the programs in the Ethiopia country strategy. The Ethiopia Interfaith Initiative for forest Conservation and Climate Action programme in Ethiopia is scaling up the NCA led Church forest pilot initiative launched in 2018 and supported by NICFI. The project builds on the pilot project by applying the church forest methodology developed in the pilot, drawing lessons from the six Ethiopian Orthodox churches supported in the pilot and further strengthen the Ethiopia Interfaith Climate Platform (EICP) established in the pilot and ensure this is functioning and advocating for change in, and implementation of climate and forest policies and strategies. The target areas of the project include the forest blocks in South Western parts of Ethiopia. The project is implemented in 10 Woredas of 3 administrative zones in 2 regional states of Ethiopia, namely the SNNPR and Oromia region
