CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Description

The purpose of this project is to boost access to high quality, diverse, and climate resilient tree-planting material and ensure that quality tree seeds and seedlings are planted in the right places, for the right purposes. The project will be implemented in Africa’s Rusizi/Lake Kivu cross border basin in Rwanda, Burundi & DRC and the Great Rift Valley of Kenya. The project will design and improve the seed and seedling supply systems to support restoration of these degraded landscapes and to accordingly support biodiversity and food security
