CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Description

The overall objective of the project "Climate Change Adaptation and Gender Equality with Nature-Based Solutions in Guinean Forests in West Africa" is to strengthen local and regional capacities for nature-based climate change adaptation solutions and to foster women's transformational leadership in this area. The project engages with a wide range of stakeholders including women's organizations and local and national organisations to prioritise locally relevant solutions. The project takes a systems approach to support climate adaptation with interventions that focus on planning, testing and scaling up solutions and contribute to improved gender equality and biodiversity impacts. It supports the restoration and reforestation of degraded forests and habitats, both on farm and on other types of land tenure, and strengthen adaptation strategies and livelihoods of women and their communities to protect and restore biodiversity in this critical bioclimatic region (Hotspot) globally.
As part of the development of the Project implementation ICRAF is being contracted to assist technically and advise the project teams, especially on the Climate Adaptation Planning component and the Restoration one (component 2 of the project), including:
● Disseminate vulnerability assessment reports
● Provide Technical support and advisory to the team in Côte d’Ivoire
● Contribute to several studies and reports need throughout the project
● Collect and integrate responses from project partners on studies and reports.
● Participate in the Work Plannings and budgeting
● Participate in project Workshops
● Ensure financial and administrative oversight and alignment with ICRAF policies
