Description

This project supports the establishment of a legal and operational framework for the restoration of degraded landscapes and Green Legacy Fund. As part of the project CIFOR works with designated staff of the Ministry of Forestry (MoF) to (i) identify, recruit and engage a team of national experts; (ii) undertake a review of relevant legal documents, strategies and plans; (ii) document national experiences in establishing and managing funds, notably road fund and water fund; (iii) organise a national consultative meeting with Federal and Regional states to get inputs regarding their expectations and also their suggestions, (iv) support, monitor and oversee the work of the team of national consultants in preparing the planned deliverables, (v) organise a validation workshop by inviting the relevant stakeholders from Federal and Regional states to comment on the draft deliverables; (vi) incorporate comments and suggestions of workshop participants and produce deliverables to be submitted to MoF; (vii) incorporate comments and suggestions of MoF and submit the final version of planned deliverables to MoF.
