Description

In this project CIFOR implements the mapping, assessment and prioritization of Non-wood forest products (NWFP) in the North-Western province of Zambia.

(1.1) Mapping of forest food products collected in the North-Western province; (1.2) Identification of forest non-food products collected in the North-Western province; (2.1) Survey and report on local perceptions of marketability, opportunities and challenges in developing NWFP value chains; (2.2) Survey and report on local perceptions of the potential impact of NWFP production and trade on local food security/nutrition; (2.3) Outline of a scientific paper on the results of the activities 1.1, 1.2, 2.1 and 2.2.; (2.4) Analysis of the regional/national market demand/potential of a subset of NWFP.
