CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Descriptions

The project supported by salesforce grant will is carrying out an impact assessment of Odisha project-India, with respect to nutrition, livelihoods, services, and climate change with hope of attaining imppressive outcomes. Additionally, provide ongoing support to participating farmers on maintenance of trees, technical backstopping, and some capacity development. In Brazil the project is focusing on influencing the first wave of planting with new, additional nutrition criteria in the choices of trees (compared to just what would have been done with Amazon). The “improved nutriscapes” variant will be tested on part of the project. The project will also cover the provision of improved germplasm / trees for farmers working with nurseries/ cooperatives, and also construct the portfolio design from a nutrition point of view (e.g. collecting data on nutrients, determining the nutritional value and diversity of output produced etc.) and from an economic point of view (= building a business case for scaling up, including value chain analysis, cost benefits for farmers, upgrading the nurseries for adequate provision etc), in order to construct a 5-20m proposal for an up scaled investment with a clear proven evidence base.
