CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

Description

Between June 2018 and January 2022, WWF-Brazil and the Renova Foundation developed the first phase of a partnership, which had as its main objective to support the Renova Foundation in the implementation of its forest restoration programs, aiming at the recovery of 40 thousand hectares of PPAs and degraded water recharge areas in the Doce River basin and 5 thousand springs.

During the development of the first phase of the partnership, the Renovating Ideas Contest: Planting Trees and Harvesting Food in the Doce River Basin was structured and developed, a realization of the Renova Foundation, with technical curatorship by WWF-Brazil and support from Instituto Terra and ICRAF (World Agroforestry). The main products of this Contest were the elaboration of 8 SAF arrangements specific to the Doce River region and a study of the context of the basin.
The second phase of the program started in June 2022, with a central objective to support the Renova Foundation's forest restoration programs.

In this small project CIFOR-ICRAF supports the partners of the Renovating Ideas Contest by bringing them together and updating the content produced by the Contest. The work also includes a financial analysis of some of the arrangements that will be part of a publication. Additionally, CIFOR-ICRAF monitors and guides the illustrations on the SAF arrangements.
