Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary, Andhra Pradesh
Andhra Pradesh has approx. 580 square kilometers of mangrove of which Coringa Wildlife Sanctuary expands 240 square kilometers. We have installed 10 rod surface elevation tables (rSETs), 6 water depth, 4 salinity and 1 reference loggers in December 2023.
Sundarbans, West Bengal
The Sundarbans, world’s largest mangrove ecosystem, represents half of the country’s mangroves and holds UNESCO and Ramsar status, highlighting its conservation importance. We have installed 20 rod surface elevation tables (rSETs), 6 salinity loggers, 6 water depth loggers and 1 reference longer across the Sundarbans.
Bhitarkanika National Park, Odisha
The Bhitarkanika National Park (BNP) spread across 145 square kilometers is crucial for protection against cyclones, conservation of declining species like Olive Ridley Sea Turtle (Lepodichelys olivacea) and many provisioning services. We plan to begin our field work in the national park soon.
