Research fellows presented our work at the International Conference on Mangroves for Sustainability 2024 (ICMS 2024). ICMS 2024 was a pivotal event focusing on the essential role of mangroves in attaining sustainable development goals. The conference explored multiple dimensions of mangrove ecosystems and their contributions to both ecological and economic sustainability (https://cessd.ou.ac.lk/icms/).

This conference provided us with an opportunity to meet and interact with other researchers working to understand and conserve mangroves. We spoke about the Mangrove Monitoring in India Program with the participants. People working across the mangrove world found our work interesting and complimented us for collecting regular on-ground data. We all shared our learnings and exciting memories from our respective field works with each other. We also met renowned scientists, community workers and consultants engaged in mangrove conservation. Attendees, especially those working in India and Sri Lanka, expressed their intention to collaborate with CIFOR-ICRAF in the future.
