CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Dr Tony Simons on beyond REDD to a whole landscape approach

Dr Tony Simons, director general of the World Agroforestry Centre, talks about the need to move beyond the narrow requirements of Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD) schemes to a 'whole landscape' approach if we are to effectively slow the rate of global warming and be able to adapt. Dr Simons was a keynote speaker at the Second Global Conference on Agriculture, Food Security and Climate Change, 3--7 September 2012, Hanoi, Viet Nam, where the interview was filmed.
