CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Setting the Scene

Restoration of peatlands entails actions that facilitate recovery of a degraded peatland to its former better state. Peatland restoration involves measures designed to revert them to a state similar to, or as near to their natural state as possible through the re-establishment of some of their ecological processes and functions. The main objective of this event is to share practitioner’s manual on Peatland Restoration monitoring using Criteria and Indicator approaches. This event will bring together policymakers, practitioners and civil society to work together towards effective peatland restoration.
