CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Reporting on forests in Southeast Asia: Bringing together scientists and journalists

Several studies have shown that coverage of science and environmental issues in the Southeast Asian media is limited, with journalists working in Southeast Asia facing a number of challenges. A genuine obstacle to addressing these issues is the absence of training in how to report on science.Watch how we brought together journalists and scientists to provide a hands-on understanding of key forestry and development issues to better equip those who report on science, environmental and policy issues. CIFOR and SciDev.Net held the residential workshop ‘Reporting on Forests in Southeast Asia’, from 30 April to 6 May 2014. For more information go to: www.forestsasia.org/journalists-training
