CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Mountain Futures

In Honghe County, the Government of China granted the use of 200 hectares to build an agricultural research village to train people from industry, educational institutions, and villages in best practices for environmental and financial sustainability. The Mountain Futures Initiative seeks to facilitate intercultural knowledge exchange and dialogue; improve food security by applying socially and environmentally appropriate, cost-effective management practices; and enable smart farming through the synthesis of new technologies and traditional practices. The research and training site in Honghe will thus facilitate the development of a shared global vision for mountain communities.
