CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Improving livelihoods in the Andean Region

Watch this Discussion Forum on the first day of the Global Landscapes Forum 2014, in Lima, Peru, during COP20. The conservation, appropriation and equitable use of ecosystem goods and services – hydrologic and carbon resources in particular – are moving up higher on international and national agendas. Nevertheless, the supply of these goods and services often does not meet the demand for them. This discussion focuses on how to move forward to tackle adaptation and mitigation of climate change for poverty alleviation at the landscape level.ModeratorHernando Riveros SerratoRepresentativeInter-American Institute for Cooperation on AgricultureSpeakersNigel AsquithScientific AdvisorBolivia Nature FoundationWilliam Laguado CervantesDirectorEcosystems and Global Change Research Center, Carbon & ForestsJuan-Cruz MonticelliSenior Energy SpecialistOrganization of American StatesVíctor VillalobosDirector GeneralInstituto Interamericano de Cooperación para la Agricultura Saturday, 6 December 2014Global Landscapes Forum, Lima, Peru#COP20GLF #ThinkLandscapeFor more information go to: www.landscapes.org
