Flowers in the forest: an organic agroforestry and rice system in Bali

Sekar Bumi in the mountains of Bali, Indonesia, is an organic farm with a difference: it grows organic rice as well as tropical flowers using trees for shade. Mr Ketut Subagia, owner and manager, describes why and how he started the business, which supplies flowers to Bali's huge hospitality industry, the integrated organic rice-livestock-agroforestry system he employs and the spread of the technology to neighbouring farms.
