CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Assessment of Options for land use in a post-2020 world

This presentation was given at a session of the Global Landscapes Forum in Lima, Peru, alongside the UNFCCC COP20. The session, titled "Assessment of options for land use in a post-2020 world", took stock of recent publications on the subject and the current status of land use, land-use change and forestry (LULUCF), REDD+ and land-related CDM discussions in the UNFCCC. A presentation showed potential options for how the land sector might be included in a post-2020 ADP agreement, highlighting the relative strengths and weaknesses of those options. This set of options was discussed at a smaller workshop the week before, attended by LULUCF and REDD+ negotiators.
