CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Forests, biodiversity and food security

The world faces many challenges in attempting to achieve global food security, and one of those challenges is the continuing loss of forests and biodiversity. How do we feed the world's growing population while maintaining its biodiversity? The answer could be in new approaches to integrating agriculture and biodiversity. CIFOR scientist Terry Sunderland explores the links between forests, biodiversity and food security in this presentation, which he recently gave at the 2nd World Biodiversity Congress in Malaysia to more than 150 delegates.
