Linking research to extension for watershed management: the Nyando experience

In 2005 ICRAF contracted a consultant writer John Mbaria to prepare a summary of the TransVic project activities in the Nyando basin an area characterized by severe soil erosion. To prepare this report John read many of the project reports and interviewed ICRAF staff involved in the project. He also interviewed farmers and Ministry of Agriculture staff our partners in the project. The report summarizes the major achievements problems and opportunities the TransVic project presents in the Nyando basin including the expectations of the local population.
