I took advantage of this opportunity for a visit to Sweden to follow up with Sida on our new support Program for Vietnam and Laos and with the agricultural university SLU in Uppsal on new research projects that may enable a post-doc and a PHD student to collaborate with us in Vietnam. I went on from there to visit with three institutions in Denmark to learn more about funding possibilities for our region from Danida and Danced and prospects for collaboration with the Danida Forest Seed Center. In Madrid Spain I the Philippines. And in Rome i discussed the new regional grant to ICRAF the northern Mindanao environmental services transfer payments to poor upland communities.
