The objective of this policy brief is to present an analysis of forest carbon initiatives (FCI) against four guiding principles to provide a basis for planning and promoting synergies between climate change mitigation and adaptation (M+A). The brief provides recommendations to maximize synergies in FCIs in general, based on experiences from the BIODEV project in West Africa.
