%X In the semi-arid and subhumid regions of Africa, agroforestry plays an important economic and ecological role. It makes a significant contribution to the livelihoods of rural populations and to the response to climate change through carbon storage and improved adaptation to climatic hazards. Agroforestry is also a solution to land degradation caused by poor farming practices and can meet the growing need for food and firewood.
