Gergera watershed is located in Tabia (the smallest administrative unit within a given district) Hayelom, Atsbi Wonberta district of Tigray Region. It is situated in northern Ethiopia. The area is prone to drought with erratic, unevenly distributed rainfall and heavy runoff, and is surrounded by hills and mountains that drain their overflow into it.
