%X This thesis presents a study conducted in Mangoase sub-district in the eastern region of Ghana to determine the variables, including socioeconomic factors, that influence the adoption of agroforestry practices by small scale farmers. The general objective of the study was to determine ways in which agroforestry interventions could be integrated into the traditional farming systems of the area. More specifically the study was also used to determine the types of farming systems in the study area, the perception of farmers to agroforestry and the extent of adoption of agroforestry.
