The Centre's financial position strengthened further during the year. We registered an operating surplus of $0.521 million in 2005. As of the end of the year, the total unrestricted net assets of the Centre reached $13.9million. This translates to 93 days of cash expenditure. Further, ICRAF's working capital as of the year-end was equivalent to 158 days of cash expenditure. These figures, which measure the long-term solvency and short-term solvency of the Centre, respectively, are above the upper thresholds recommended by the CGIAR secretariat.
