Jatropha curcas, also known as physic nut, is an easy-to-establish shrub that grows to a height of 5 to 8 metres. It has multiple uses that that meet many critical needs of resource-poor farmers of Africa and is one of the most common hedge plants in Africa due to its ability to grow fast from cuttings and seeds.
