s:898:"%T International Centre for Research in Agroforestry: Annual Report 1995 %A van Houten H %X Nineteen ninety five was a paradoxical year for ICRAF, as we experienced both emerging research breakthroughs and funding shortfalls. it was also a year of high exposure to our donors and our partners in the CGIAR, many of whom visited our headquarters and research sites in Kenya in conjunction with the CGIAR Mid-Term Meeting in May and the TAC 68 meeting at ICRAF in December. We faced serious financial difficulties because of unexpected shortfalls in donor funding mid year, followed by an interruption in the funding of the Alternatives to Slash-and-Burn Programme. We had to reset priorities and terminate 7 senior positions. However, thanks to the assistance of CGI4R and the timely support of the governments of Norway and India, we could continue our work and restore our financial health. ";
