Integrated natural resource management research for the highlands of East and Central Africa: proposal for a collaborative regional initiative

This report defines options for proposed collaboration on resource management research in the high-potential highlands of east and central Africa. The countries included in this initiative are Burundi, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zaire. The report summarizes the evolution of research in the region and describes its salient outputs. It also describes the role of the international agricultural research centres (IARCs) in supporting regional research as well as evolution of their relationships with national agricultural research systems (NARS)
