s:963:"%T Growth, biomass production and plant mortality of seven Sesbania sesban var. nubica and three Sesbania macrantha accessions at Tumbi, Tanzania. %A Karachi M %A Lema N %A Sabas E %A Shirima D S %X Growth, components of biomass yield and plant mortality after cutting of Sesbania sesban var. nubica and Sesbania macrantha were investigated. Significant differences (P < 0.05) between accessions in height, height incremental rates and basal collar diameter were recorded at 3 and 5 months after field establishment. Significant differences (P < 0.05) of height at initiation of flowering, primary branching, number of primary, secondary and tertiary branches between the accessions were obtained. Sesbania macrantha did not develop secondary and tertiary branches. Fodder yields, components of fodder and wood yields were different (P < 0.05) between the accessions. Similarly, plant mortality varied significantly (P < 0.05) between the accessions. ";
