AB The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) initiated a network project for organized research in agroforestry in 1983. To strengthen and coordinate the agroforestry research the National Research Centre (NRC) for Agroforestry was established on 8th May, 1988 at Jhansi (Uttar Pradesh) which was upgraded on 1st December, 2014 as ICAR- Central Agroforestry Research Institute (ICAR-CAFRI). The paper discusses the agroforestry research and development by the Institute during last more than three decades.
