CIFOR–ICRAF publishes over 750 publications every year on agroforestry, forests and climate change, landscape restoration, rights, forest policy and much more – in multiple languages.

CIFOR–ICRAF addresses local challenges and opportunities while providing solutions to global problems for forests, landscapes, people and the planet.

We deliver actionable evidence and solutions to transform how land is used and how food is produced: conserving and restoring ecosystems, responding to the global climate, malnutrition, biodiversity and desertification crises. In short, improving people’s lives.

Creating an integrated research agenda from prioritized watershed issues

The AHI site teams have successfully identified a list of 'watershed issues' in each site through systematically capturing the views of diverse groups. They have prioritized these issues through analysis of the responses to find the issues that are most important to a broad range of social actors. It is reasoned that subsequent interventions will be of interest to and take into account concerns of diverse groups, e.g significant "buy-in" and be easier to initiate and to create an impact for more people. The strengths of the communities that may be built upon as we design an approach to move forward have been identified. The research teams are now on the brink of planning with communities on what actions to take on the need to be filled to inform the action.Topics should be explored around each issue and this will most likely encompass technological solutions, as well as local policies and organizational arrangements that enable effective solutions at the biophysical level.
