The manual presents techniques for construction and management of tree nurseries in homesteads. It describes the participation of farmers and their families from site selection, construction, seedbed preparation up to seedling selection, packaging and dispatch. These activities are illustrated with figures. Since the use of commercial insecticides and fertilizers in nurseries is too expensive for the farmers, the manual recommends the use of organic fertilizers as well as botanical insecticides.
