The AFRENA network for eastern and central Africa was initiated in 1987/88 as a partnership venture linking ICRAF with the NARs of the region, for the development of agroforestry research and development. The European Union grant to the network begun in June 1996 for the three year period. This current report covers the regional component of the grant. The report provides specifics on accomplishments within the regional coordination component and summary status of operations in the various country National Indicative Programmes (NIPs).
