The training course had the following objectives:•To appreciate the importance of land use characterization and suggest possible innovations, including policy change, institutional change and technology innovations•Be able to plan, implement, analyse and evaluate participatory on-farm agroforestry experiments: researcher-designed as well as farmer-designed trials•Be able to develop and evaluate a research protocol/proposal•Review, analyse and exchange recent Southeast Asian experiences in participatory natural resources experimentationThe expected output of the course were• Individual actions plans for follow up activities•National action plans for follow up activities
